Developing Lifetime Action Plans: Where Great Ideas Come From
An Excerpt From the Curriculum of the 4th Grapevine
The exercise is to create mental environments that free your mind to be creative. In many cases, the most successful, effective life changing Visions and Action Plans come from creative thinking.
- Travel; immerse yourself with new ways of seeing things and solving problems.
- Surround yourself with people who do innovative, non conventional things.
- Watch childrens’ innate ability to be continually creative during play and get back in touch with your own ability to do the same.
- Meet and think about Action Plan breakthroughs with several people, one at a time or in a group.
- Fantasize how something might look and what steps you could take to get there.
- Be prepared (in fact expect) break-throughs while dreaming, running, in the shower, or while in traffic.
- Read inspirational accounts of people who have “broken free.”
- Establish an idea bank on your computer, with an index card or voice recorder.
- Read a book on creativity (Michael LeBoeuf and Edward DeBono have authored some great books on creative thinking and innovation).
