Grapevine Discovery, Inc. the developers of a physician fulfillment program, recently
launched an alumni program. In spite of achieving career and financial success,
today’s physicians are stressed and overworked, often losing sight of their career
goals and personal ambitions. The resulting frustration, anger, restlessness, and
exhaustion are known as physician burnout and adversely affect the quality and costs
of patient care. Physicians have turned to the physician fulfillment program at
Grapevine Discovery as a successful means to combat burnout.
Many Grapevine Discovery
graduates want to continue this exciting pursuit with other alumni. The newly launched
alumni program gives members the opportunity for continuing interaction with other
professionals on the same journey. Alumni have the option to participate in three
dinners each year that provide roundtable sharing and personal, one-on-one interaction.
Additionally, the alumni website provides for member dialogues, access to the Grapevine
online lifetime planning tools, and the alumni curriculum of follow-on concepts
related to the original Grapevine Process®.
“We have listened to the needs of our
graduates and they have expressed a real desire to build on what they have learned,”
said Howard Silverman, co-founder of Grapevine Discovery. “We put together the alumni
program to address the continuing needs of busy physicians faced with highly stressed
occupations. By sharing challenges and experiences, there is increased opportunity
for making changes that expand into fulfillment.”
The co-founders of the program are Howard Silverman, MD MS, and Fred Corbus. Dr.
Silverman is a Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the University
of Arizona College of Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Biomedical Informatics
at Arizona State University. Mr. Corbus received his Bachelor’s degree in Management
and Economics from the University of Hawaii. Since 1979, he has recorded over 30,000
hours specializing in the design and facilitation of processes for management teams
and physician. He is credentialed by the American Medical Association as a Health
Care Consultant.
Summary Paragraph: To counteract physician burnout, Grapevine Discovery is following
up the launch of its physician fulfillment program with an Alumni Program. This
